Radio Personality Shawn Flanagan Brings Up Inspiring Topics on My Podcast

I've had the pleasure of quite a few conversations with my soon to be Uncle, or Uncle In-Law, Shawn Flanagan.

My introduction started with his career in "Track" from 'racing towards the Olympics' to coaching runners who would do the same. After sports, it turned quickly to politics, but really, it turned to philosophy.

Flanagan retired very recently and has put a lot of energy to search the greatest philosophical texts and appearing on Bob Jone's 1440 KEYS in Corpus Christi, TX

Where he picks apart the intellectual and cultural concepts we call "Freedom"

It was awesome to have him on my podcast. We talked about something even more complex than "Freedom", we talked about "Art". Listen below.

毎晩 (feat. Danielle Victoria)

Let me start by saying thank you to Danielle Victoria, for the feature, for the title of the song and for writing the 2nd vocals I do, music and lyrics....

...
...thank you,,

kisses cheek...

...ok

Other than that this track is more nostalgia, more emotion, and more cool vibes. Go listen to 毎晩 or Every Night. The song has some lyrics in Japanese.

Everything - Kinyo (Music Sneak Peak)

I made this song 4 years ago. The painting series is called "Worship". It was created for an awesome weekend of events called Katalambano at Salvation Center in San Antonio

I was born in a hospital in Oakland, and we lived in Berkely for about 7 years. What next?

Documentation Pushes Me to Be Honest.

One of the reasons I love building blogs and websites and making videos, songs, poems, and why I also like giving talks or doing workshops or event hosting is because I LOVE communication.

I just love talking to people. I love how HD a powerfully emotional connection can be. From face to face communication, to a poem discovered in the depths of the privacy of the audience, communications is great.

Documentation of my own life also acts as a mirror, so I can detach and see myself for what I was at that moment.

Two NEW "2019" Images. Step Back and Consider the Year so Far.

This year really is about REST. I'm taking the rest of this year to focus on building my relationships with all the great people in my life; there are so many; going back so many years. In some ways, I think connecting more with my family has created the space for me to do the same with my "tribe" or extended (chosen) family

the places I've been before - poetry set (new)

This is a completely new set of poems called "the places I've been before". I've written these poems sometime in the last two months. I took a break from sharing new works on poetry for April (National Poetry Month) and basically kept it up since then. I plan to publish a couple of books, or maybe just one by the end of the year.

check out other poetry images, or maybe my books.

I'm Teaming Up with a San Antonio Photographer for my Next Book of Poetry

His name is Franco (Francisco Gambino). He is a 16-year-old in San Antonio.
I've always loved photography and when I saw his photos I knew that it was time for me to do something different.

I'm working on a new grouping of work. I find myself desiring to create an "original moment" for my readers. So they can find themselves unexpectedly there, and know they can always come back again.

Check out some photos from Francisco Gambino below.

No More Shows @AftonShows Saturday Show #AftonShows

Soo... I was supposed to do a show at the Paper Tiger this past weekend. I arrived at the venue at 7:20.

The show hadn't really started, but the manager said they were saving space for people that sold tickets (fair, I would do the same, maybe). Long story made short, I didn't perform.

I learned that shows with the Afton company probably aren't for me. I love those venues, but I'll probably build a show with artist and vendors that I like to work with. I knew that anyway. Anyway, stay tuned for more show updates.
